Overview[]

Space is a Superior Element (or Fusion Element) in Elemental Battlegrounds. Its color palette consists of navy blue, black, grey, orange, and white. Its medal depicts a ringed planet resembling Saturn, representing outer space, with tiny dots surrounding it representing stars.

This Element can be obtained by fusing Void (1300 Diamonds) and Gravity (500 Diamonds), along with costing an additional 250 Diamonds to fuse.

Description[]

Space is a little Mana costly and relatively slow, but has a moderately high damage output to make up for it. Space works very well at controlling opponents with its many effects and insists on other players to stay back. However it is outclassed by other elements like Solar and Technology in damage, it has better control options, so it is a good tradeoff. The spell list for Space is shown below, but as for damage, this has been tested with 50 power against a player with 50 defense. The damage can vary depending on how much attack/defense the players have, but in general, it should lie close to the values listed.

Spells[]

Spells
Asteroid Belt
Spell 1 Type Multi-Projectile
Spell 1 Description "User pulls asteroids from space and launches them at opponents to deal medium damage."
Spell 1 Info The user creates a ring of 8 (or 11 if fully charged) asteroids above the user's head and then flings them at their cursor's location as meteors, exploding upon impact and doing 48 damage per asteroid to enemies that were hit.
  • Consumes 300 Mana, and has a 7-second cooldown
Spell 1 Picture Asteroid Belt-0-0
Black Hole Orb
Spell 2 Type Projectile
Spell 2 Description "User fires a slow travelling orb that will pull players towards it and explode."
Spell 2 Info The user shoots a slow moving black hole into the direction of the user's cursor's location that will pull nearby enemies towards it. If the black hole reaches its maximum range, collides with a solid object, or an enemy gets too close to it, it will explode and deal 280 damage (350 with max power). This Spell can be charged.
  • Costs 400 Shards, Consumes 350 Mana, and has a 10-second cooldown
Spell 2 Picture Black Hole Orb-0-0
Comet Crash
Spell 3 Type Transportation
Spell 3 Description "User turns into a small star, travels a short distance, and finally explodes dealing low damage and blinding nearby players."
Spell 3 Info The user turns into a bright comet (or a star, as mentioned by the description), rises into the air, and then crashes to their cursor's location in an arcing trajectory very rapidly, creating an explosion upon impact that blind enemies that were hit, along with doing 180 damage to them. The user can also launch themselves into the air using this Spell.
  • Costs 600 Shards, Consumes 250 Mana, and has a 6-second cooldown
Spell 3 Picture Comet Crash-0-0
Neutron Punch
Spell 4 Type Contact
Spell 4 Description "User grabs their opponent with a white star hand and deals a high damage and knockback punch."
Spell 4 Info The user grabs the nearest enemy within a very small range, before punching them with their right fist, which turns into a white star (presumably a neutron star) beforehand, dealing 350 damage (438 with max power) and knocking back the enemy a far distance with high power. This Spell has the shortest range of all the Contact Spells.
  • Costs 800 Shards, Consumes 350 Mana, and has a 10-second cooldown
Spell 4 Picture NEUTRON PUNCH
Supernova
Spell 5 Type Ultimate
Spell 5 Description "User slowly pulls in nearby players and then explodes as a supernova dealing high knockback and damage."
Spell 5 Info The user (presumably turns into a star), surrounding themselves with a large white beam that will stun and pull in nearby enemies, before collapsing upon themselves to release a miniature supernova explosion, that will knock away enemies that were within range and deal 470 damage to them.

How to use Space[]

Space does have numerous control options, and the most prominent control option is Black Hole Orb. Make sure to use this wisely, as it is your best option at controlling the opponent and dealing some nasty damage to them. Comet Crash and Neutron Punch both work really well with each other, as the brief stun from Comet Crash gives you just enough time to give them a wicked punch, totaling even more damage. Asteroid Impacts are great when the player is stuck in the black hole, or after the punch. Be aware that Supernova, while very attracting (literally), is also incredibly slow, and you can get punished very easily with it active.

How to fight Space[]

Watch for Space's Black Hole Orb, as it is very good at setting up combos. Once you're sucked into it, not only do you take a moderate chunk of damage, but you're vulnerable to other attacks while getting sucked in. Neutron Punch can also leave a scar on you, so if they're coming close to you, try to dodge the attack, as the effect range is very small. Also make sure to use range against Space, since most of the spells Space has are either slow, or limited in range. Light is excellent against Space, as it has very long range and healing. Be sure to stay back and avoid the black hole orb and you'll eventually win the battle.

Trivia[]

  • Space is the third Element that is a Fusion Element and a Superior Element.
  • Asteroid Belt, Black Hole Orb, and Comet Crash were reworked slightly on an update released on 12/20/2018.
    • Asteroid Belt's projectiles used to roll along the ground and explode upon impact with another player, much like Earth's Rocks Avalanche. The asteroids used to deal 88 damage each (with maximum Power), which was very high compared to the 59 damage each asteroid deals now. The Spell also used to charge a lot faster.
    • Black Hole Orb used to pull in opponents a lot slower, making them idly float for a lot longer, which led to many controversial powerful combos, as well as being just a black orb rather than a black energy swirl. It also used to pass through solid objects.
    • Comet Crash didn't always lift the user into the air when the Spell was cast.
  • Space is the second Element in the game that doesn't have an AoE Spell, the others being Earth, Sound, and Angel.
  • Space is the first Element to have had some of its Spells reworked.
    • Neutron Punch and Supernova are the only Spells to not have been reworked.
  • Space is the first Superior Element to be implemented from Elemental Wars.
  • Space was formerly the most expensive Element, costing a total of 2050 Diamonds, and stayed being the most expensive for a long time, until it was knocked out to the 3rd place by Angel and Slime in 2019.
    • Despite being knocked out to the 3rd place as the most expensive Element, the cost to obtain Space's fusion elements alone (Void and Gravity), without the 250 additional Diamond cost, remains the most expensive in the game (Angel's fusion elements require 1100 diamonds, Slime's fusion elements require 1600 diamonds, while Space's fusion elements require 1800 diamonds.)
  • Space is the first Superior Element that requires another Superior Element in its fusion, which is Void. Slime is the second Fusion Element that requires a Superior Element in its fusion.
  • Space's Spells are based on astronomical objects and phenomena that occur naturally in outer space.
    • Asteroids are minor planets within the inner solar system formed from Jovian influence.
    • Black holes are regions of extremely dense spacetime formed from the gravitational collapse of stars.
    • Comets are icy bodies which are formed from debris disks such as the Oort Cloud.
    • Neutron stars are highly dense stars formed from the gravitational collapse of stars.
    • Supernovae are vast, outward expulsions of stellar matter formed from the gravitational collapse of stars.
  • Comet Crash's spell description made an error when describing the user, turning into a star, rather than a comet. Stars and comets are two very different celestial bodies, comets being more suitable for a transportation spell for Space.
  • Celestial objects and phenomena represented by these spells are significantly reduced in power for balancing purposes. Realistic portrayal of some spells would lead to massive destruction.
    • Black holes, neutron stars and supernovae would significantly damage if not outright vaporize the planet and could greatly disrupt the motion of surrounding celestial bodies.
      • The radiation emitted from neutron stars and supernovae is sufficient to radiolyse the atmosphere and trigger an extinction event.
  • Explanation Behind the Fusion
    • A major constituent of space consists of both void (imperfect vacuum) and the gravitational forces from matter. However, the spells mainly focus on the matter of space.
