Nightmare is a Rare Element in Elemental Battlegrounds. Its color palette consists of magenta, purple, red, black, and white. Its medal depicts an eye with a swirl on the pupil.

Nightmare is stronger but slower than most other Elements. Its Spells usually have a long cooldown, but they can deal heavy damage.

This Element costs 900 Diamonds.

Player Rating[]

Nightmare is considerably strong at both medium and long range, and has many Spells that can stun. Even though its Spells are slow, they are capable of taking players by surprise. Nightmare's Spells are also strong, but they can easily miss.

Note: Damage was tested with 50 Power on a player with 50 Defense.

Trivia[]

  • It was confirmed by juniorjfive that Nightmare was originally going to be earned by defeating a boss.
    • Despite this, the reason that Nightmare was not added in the game until late was apparently due to "laziness".
    • Due to this, Nightmare had the longest waiting time between announcement and release. This was apparently due to inactive developers and the fact Nightmare was going to be more detailed.
  • Nightmare used to be the most expensive non-Fusion Element until Aurora was released on December 2017, costing 1225 Diamonds, however Aurora was later dethroned by Technology which released on December 2019, costing 1337 Diamonds, and, on February 2021, Creation has become the most expensive at 1856 Diamonds. Nightmare is currently the fifth most expensive non-Fusion Element along with Dragon, with the third most expensive Element being Explosion, costing 1100 Diamonds.
  • Nightmare is the only Ultimate to be named after its Element.
  • Due to the fact that Nightmare's release was poorly executed, releasing months after its original release date, one could say that it was a 'nightmare' for the developers.
  • Nightmare is one of the six Elements that alter other players' perspectives without completely blinding them, the others being Time, Aurora, Illusion, Dragon, Acid, and Solar.
  • Nightmare is used for the game's third cheapest Fusion (not counting the Diamond costs to buy the Elements required in the Fusion) along with Darkness to make Reaper, at a cost of 50 Diamonds.
  • At some moments, when using Horrifying Heads, there's a chance of the user being slightly pushed if they use the move, and then, they move forward. This is maybe due to the Horrifying Heads' part has its CanCollide turned on.
  • Strangely, most of Nightmare's Spells don't seem to be related to real-life nightmares or dreams.
    • However, the use of human skulls could reference the association of skeletons to fear, and the description for Bloodcurdling Blast directly references fear.
  • Nightmare is the first Element to use an avatar model in one of its Spells. (Skeleton Grab). The second is Acid's Toxic Basilisk, although Toxic Basilisk uses an Rthro model, while Skeleton Grab uses an R6 model.
  • Nightmare is the first Ultimate to have a single word in its name instead of two, the others being Phoenix's Immolate and Aurora's Polaris.
